This program provides training to 20 families from the Jauaruna, Alemã and Urubutinga communities, in Terra Santa, for the management of stingless bees, involving both the production and sale of hives and honey.

The benefits include greater income generation and improved quality of life for the families. This initiative is conducted in a partnership with the Municipal Secretary of Agriculture (Semagri) of Terra Santa.

This program assists 14 communities of Alto Trombetas 1 and 2 with health care services to treat and prevent pathologies. Gynecology and prenatal care services are provided, as well as general clinic and nursing care, monitoring program for hypertensive and diabetic patients, family planning, vaccination, distribution of medicines, laboratory tests and informative presentations. Through the project, initiatives to fight infant malnutrition are also developed. This action relies on the support of Neurowellness Saúde and the Oriximiná City Council. In 2019, 2,095 medical consultations were provided.

The Environmental Education Program (PEA) seeks to raise awareness among young people and adults about environmental education in all the territories under the direct influence of MRN. It is currently developed in 29 communities in the municipalities of Oriximiná and Terra Santa, with 522 families being assisted. Participants are trained to understand the importance of water care, education and health.

Actions are developed on the need for environmental preservation and sustainability, with a focus on solid waste and the rational use of water. Environmental multiplier workshops, environmental education presentations and mobilization meetings for the installation of recyclable items collection points, such as cans and PET bottles, have already been held. The project is supported by STCP Engenharia de Projetos.

The Environmental and Heritage Education Project (PEAP) aims to strengthen cultural identity based on the rescue and appreciation of the artistic and cultural heritage. Through courses and workshops, participants are instructed on the responsible use of natural resources.

The project organizes workshops for the improvement of ceramic production, handicraft with forest products, environmental multipliers, entrepreneurship, as well as lectures on environmental education, meetings for the inclusion of new beneficiaries and Quilombola cultural analysis. In total, seven communities are assisted with investments. The project is supported by STCP Engenharia de Projetos.

Every year, actions are taken to prevent, control and fight malaria while seeking to contribute to the reduction of infant and adult mortality in riverside communities.

The actions include: spraying (both outdoors and in households), educational activities, diagnosis and treatment in 22 communities in the Alto Trombetas 1 and 2 region, in communities near the district of Porto Trombetas and the Tawanã indigenous village.

The program has roughly 2 thousand beneficiaries and is supported by the Oriximiná City Council.

The Agroforestry Systems (SAFs) promote forest preservation and stimulate the social, economic and environmental development of communities surrounding MRN through sustainable land use.

One of the objectives is to generate income for community members of the Sapucuá Lake region through planting of fruit and vegetable crops and forest essences with seedlings donated by MRN.

Currently, 29 families are assisted in the communities of Boa Nova, Saracá, Casinha and Camixá. The program is developed along with Florestas Gestão Ambiental consultancy firm.

To guarantee the conservation of the copaiba species (Copaifera sp.) and the production of oil-resin to current and future populations, the project invests in training and technical assistance for the sustainable management of copaíba, in addition to making the inventory and management of natural populations in the Monte Branco plateau (Flona Saracá-Taquera) and the communities involved.

The initiative benefits 36 extractive families from the Curuçá Mirim and Jamari communities.

"It has improved because, besides earning a daily allowance from MRN for harvesting, the oil we collect is all ours to be sold as our income. Through the project, we also learned how to prepare seedlings, which we also sell to the company for replanting."

Held in the Ascensão Community, in the Lake Sapucuá region, and in the Batata and Camixá Communities, in Médio Trombetas, the project aims to strengthen the cassava chain and other crops such as beans, watermelon, vegetables and rustic chicken.

To this end, investments are made in the technical qualification of local producers to cultivate and produce without the practice of burning The project’s goals involve food security, income generation and environmental sustainability of the productive units. Currently, 23 families sell their annual production.

This project provides professional training, infrastructure and technical assistance to small fish farmers for farming tambaqui in floating tanks. And it benefits eight riverside families of Tarumã, Acapuzinho and Bacabal lakes. The initiative is developed through a partnership with the Federal University of Western Pará, Oriximiná campus, and provides income generation for families, helps preserve the natural fish stock and supplies the local market.
