We have the largest environmental monitoring sampling network in the Amazon, with analysis and monitoring of more than 57 points related to the physical-chemical quality of the water.
Once a month, we take samples in rivers, streams and lakes in the region. The water collected is analyzed not only by MRN specialists, but also by external laboratories. These analyses serve to attest, for example, the level of water turbidity (absorption capacity and light reflection), which indicates the appropriate conditions for consumption.
So far, the analyses of all monitored points have attested to turbidity levels well below the limit established by legislation.
We develop and conduct the Integrated Fauna Management Program, which includes such activities as disturbing and rescuing the fauna in the area of influence of the project - an activity performed by qualified and trained professionals.
The program has a direct impact on the preservation and conservation of amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals and insects.
On a weekly basis, we monitor air quality in the area of the project in order to eliminate possible interferences of the activities on the atmosphere of Porto Trombetas and surroundings.
The work involves 11 monitoring points and, in all of them, the levels of inhalable particles remain below the limit established by law.
